Hornby Annual Wagons
Each year since 1992, Hornby have produced a special limited edition model with the Hornby logo on the side. Only 3000 are produced each year so they are obviously sought after by collectors. I started collecting them in 2004 and, in an effort to get the complete set, I am scouting eBay for earlier years. Unfortunately, when they do appear the bidding often reaches silly prices. Nevertheless I shall keep trying.
The 1996 model is this open wagon, shown here still in its box just after arriving from an eBay seller
The 2004 model is a six-wheeled van, while 2005 brought a tanker wagon. Pictures of these two coming soon.
The 2006 model, fresh out of its box after arriving from Hattons
The 2006 model is a departure, not featuring the official Hornby logo, and looking more like a “real” wagon.
