On the train into work this morning, I saw someone who looked sort of like someone I was at school with. Now, simple logic dictates that it can’t be him, but I still stared at him for several minutes. No wonder people think I’m strange.

    Who was it?

Alexander Szczesniak, he of the surname with an awesome number of consonants. He left MTS after GCSEs and went onto a 6th Form College, as I recall.

As I said, it can’t be him. He lived (and presumably still lives) in Southport, so why would he travelling (wearing a pink shirt, no less) at the wrong end of the Northern Line during the morning rush hour? And I’m sure he’d be at university anyway.

No other ex-MTS people I’ve spoken to remember him, so I’m starting to wonder if he was a figment of my imagination.

No, I remember him. He was rather unfairly allowed to enter (and win) a French Speaking competition at MTS, despite being fluent in French. Bastard.

Did you have to look up his surname to be able to spell it, or was that from memory? 😉

No, sadly enough, it was from memory 🙂

You may think he was a bastard, but I remember him as one of the good guys. Having said that, I’ve mentally blocked out a sizeable chunk of my teenage years, so I may be recalling incorrectly…

Nah, I was only calling him a bastard because he won that competition, when his entry in it rendered the whole thing pretty much pointless.

I tend to remember little injustices like that, I do.

But he was alright, as I recall.
